Last week, Dr. Girish Ganjyal was invited to the Faculty of Food Science and Biotechnology at the University of Life Sciences in Lublin, Poland, to deliver a keynote talk at the international conference Food in a Sustainable World. His presentation, titled “Innovations and Trends in Food Ingredients and Food Products for a Sustainable Food System,” highlighted strategies within the realm of food science that support global efforts toward more sustainable production and consumption.

The two-day conference brought together scientists, educators, policymakers, and industry leaders to discuss the future of food in the context of sustainability and all the ways that it could look like. Whether it’s safety assurance, advancement in technology, or reducing food waste for both the consumer and for production, the discussions showed many avenues that the future can take to improve from here.

Beyond his presentation, Dr. Ganjyal participated in discussions with faculty and researchers to identify areas for potential joint research and collaboration. “The conference provided a valuable opportunity to learn from and network with top-notch researchers from around the world,” said Dr. Ganjyal. “I was able to visit the laboratories and have discussions about potential collaborations with the faculty there. There is considerable potential for future collaborations that we look forward to.”
