Dr. Michael is originally from Punjab, a northwestern state in India, and he earned his Bachelor of Engineering in Food Technology from SLIET, India. Dr. Michael moved to the U.S. in 2007 and then received his M.S. and Ph.D. in Food Science from Kansas State University with a research focus on Food Safety and Microbiology. After graduating, Dr. Michael continued working at Kansas State University as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Food Safety and Defense Laboratory. Dr. Michael joined the School of Food Science at Washington State University in 2018 as Assistant Professor of Dairy Science. Dr. Michael’s research program focuses on Food Safety and Dairy Microbiology, and he also teaches Dairy Processing and Food Analysis courses.
