UI Ag Days Teaches High Schoolers about Food Science

UI’s College of Agricultural and Life Sciences (CALS) hosted 200 high school students for a Food Science Showcase during 2014 Ag Days. The showcase provided interactive science experiments that introduced the students to the science of their food. Testing ph and sensory were two fun activities that kept the students engaged and learning. This year’s Annual Chili Cook Off was incorporated into this student event.Their evening was topped off with “Grabbers”– ice cream sandwiches made by Food Science students at the WSU Creamery!
