We are seeking a Food and Fermentation Expert to teach the popular and successful Cider School Program and to be a core faculty member in the delivery of the WSU undergraduate Ag & Food System Degree Program through the new campus in Everett, Washington. The Cider School provides education on principles and processes of cider and perry making, training in the practical skills of cider making, understanding of the business of cider making, and mastery of quality assurance and quality control in cider production. The successful candidate will be housed in the School of Food Science (SFS) at the WSU Mount Vernon Northwestern Washington Research and Extension Center (NWREC). Much of the growth in the region’s food industry is around the production of specialty foods and beverages. Screening: will begin on July 29, 2016, and will continue until position is filled. We are looking for a dynamic, motivated, highly skilled and experienced problem solving leader who addresses the needs of industry, stakeholders, and communities across the state and nationally, providing solutions through relevant and engaging research and outreach programs. This 12-month, full-time, tenure-track, Assistant/Associate Professor position will join our research and extension team and enhance the SFS’s position in food safety with an emphasis on raw agricultural products and minimally processed foods produced in the Pacific Northwest.
