Dr. John Montoure

Dr. John Montoure, SFS Extension Professor Emeritus at UI of Meridian, ID, passed away on September 4, 2013. After three years in the Air Force, he used the GI Bill to enroll at the University of Wisconsin—Madison, graduating in 1954 with a BS (Dairy Science) and then his Masters in 1955. He moved his family to Pullman, WA to work on his doctorate at WSU, graduating in 1961. He was hired by the University of Idaho, where he became a Professor Emeritus in Food Science. In 1982, he switched to Extension Service, traveling the state to consult with food processors on food quality and safety issues. He retired in 1998 after 37 years of service at the U of I. He leaves behind 4 daughters (Sharon, Susan, Carol and Patty) and his wife Karen Montoure. Read more about Dr. Montoure here.
